On March 4th, we were invited to attend a bursary appreciation dinner at Imagine High Integrated High School. We donated $11,000 towards bursaries at the Chilliwack secondary schools.
We attended the very informative BCAHA conference in Vernon from April 19th to 22nd. We were presented with our 115th year anniversary certificate.
On May 8th, we held our annual Auxiliary Day/Mother’s Day bake sale surpassing all sales records at over $2800.
It is not all work and no play for us. The hospital invited us to their appreciation BBQ held this year on June 19. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the time spent together.
On the 3rd Wednesday of each month we enjoy a dinner at our local Ricky’s restaurant. see pic
This year we presented service award pins to long serving members.
On July 11th we held our very first bingo fundraiser. We sold liquor and hot dogs and had a silent auction table, a baking table, a toonie toss, and a 50/50 draw. There were 5 bingo games with nice prizes donated by some community businesses and individuals, including a $500 cash prize for the last game. Everyone enjoyed the evening so much they want us to hold one every month.
